Preannouncement
'Private/Corporate
V' is the fifth in a series of exhibitions, in which the Daimler Art
Collection presents itself in a dialogue with an international private
collection once a year.
The Lafrenz Collection
concentrates on aspects of Minimal and Concept Art, Post Painterly Abstraction,
Land Art and Arte Povera. Introduction..
The Private/Corporate
Exhibitions
Since 2002, cooperation
has always revolved around a focusing on what is characteristic for
both the private collector invited and the development of the Daimler
Art Collection: conceptual trends and international contemporary positions
of 'reduced art' (dialogue
with Paul Maenz, Berlin, 2002), minimal and post-minimal art (dialogue
with Ileana Sonnabend, New York, 2003), German positions in the
borderland of abstraction, figuration and minimalism (dialogue
with Heliod Spiekermann, Düsseldorf, 2005).
Probably the greatest challenge for the Daimler Art Collection lay in
the invitation to Anupam
Poddar (*1974), one of India's most important collectors. Insight
into the specific 'language' of Indian art revealed new aspects of the
Daimler Collection, and gave us the courage to try out possible juxtapositions
of narration and reduction.
