Cor
Dera works with animal photographs which he takes from generally available
coffee-table books. In his creative work, he starts by applying purely
artistic and formal criteria: choice and arrangement are based on principal
deliberations concerning the composition, colors and color accents,
as well as the relationship of total form to individual picture.
Cor
Dera's work focuses on the picture of nature after the genetic revolution,
on the merger of nature and culture, demonstrating our endeavors to
force nature in all its diversity into a scientific classification system.
Cor Dera recently said that he still had to complete some 300 works
to fulfill his artistic aim: then nature as an entity of individual
beings will have been translated into the system of art.
